English week 17 - summerizer

Week 17:
Summariser:

The story continues with Stanley and Zero still out in the deserted nowhere. Zero gets better and tells Stanley the story behind him stealing the shoes. Zero tells that he was homeless before he came to Camp Green Lake. He often went to the homeless shelter that Clyde Livingston's shoes were in. One day Zero took the shoes because he thought it was better to take a pair of old shoes than to steal a pair of new shoes. He couldn't read the sign explaining whose shoes they were. Zero was wearing the shoes when people at the shelter discovered they were stolen. Everyone was so upset about the stolen shoes that Zero ran outside and placed the shoes on top of a parked car. And that's the beginning of the story on how the shoes landed in Stanley's hands.

In the next chapter Stanley and Zero decides to dig a hole, in hope to find water and they succeed. Stanley realizes that he is happier than he has ever been before. He means that he's happy he got arrested because now he has a friend like Zero, and he likes himself as well. Stanley thinks about secretly returning to camp and digging up the treasure that may be in the hole where he found the lipstick container. Maybe he could find the other treasure that the Warden was so eager to find.

Zero and Stanley then prepare themselves and plan to return to Camp in an attempt to dig up the mysterious treasure and then escape. They wait until the next day before leaving. While they wait, Zero tells Stanley more about his life. He says that he remembers his mother singing him the same song that Stanley sang, only with different words. Zero also explains to Stanley about how his mother left him. They reach camp and hide near the hole that Stanley found the lipstick tube in.

After dark, when everybody is asleep, they jump up out of the hole and Stanley starts to dig in the hole he had found the lipstick tube in. While he's doing that, Zero sneaks into camp to get water and food. After what seems to be ages according to Stanley, they finally found the treasure, witch turns out to be a suitcase. But just as they prepare to leave, Mr Sir, the Warden and Mr Pedanski shows up and they got caught. The Warden shines a flashlight on Zero, who is holding the suitcase until she sees that there is a deadly yellow-spotted lizard on the suitcase. Stanley realises he is standing in a lizard's nest. Meanwhile Mr. Sir tells Stanley that Stanley's lawyer had shown up the day before to say that Stanley is innocent of stealing the shoes. But Stanley doesn't care about that. Later a woman shows up. The woman says she is Stanley's lawyer and tells the Warden that she will file charges against the camp. To defend herself, The Warden says that Stanley stole the suitcase that Zero is holding, witch clearly isn't the truth. When the sun finally comes out, the lizards crawl away from Stanley and Zero and the warden tries to take the suitcase from them, but then Zero shows everyone the other side of the suit case where Stanley's name is printed.

Later, Stanley's lawyer tells Stanley not to open the suitcase and that he can leave freely. But Stanley refuses to leave without Hector. After awhile Ms Morengo decides to also take Hector with her. On their way home in the car, ms Morengo tells the story on how she found out that Stanley was innocent after all and for the first time in 100 years, rain falls over camp green lake.

The book ends with Stanley and Zero getting an amount of money for the things that they found in the suitcase. With the money, Stanley decides to buy a new house for his family. The last pages of the book is written like an epilogue and you read about a party held at Stanley's new house with all his family and friends. He sits in the couch next to none other then the famous Clyde Livingston as they all together watch the commercial for his dad's new product that he finally succeeded with. And that's how the story about Stanley's interesting adventure ends.

Digging up the truth may be one of the theories about what the book is about more than just the idea of the holes. In the beginning they mention a lot of things about kiss'n Kate Barlow, his great great great grandfather, and I have always thought about that all of those things meant something or held away a truth

My Dream School || English text

Helin Ahmed
Buenos Aires Soccer Institute
Buenos Aires, Argentina

Hi!                                                                                                      January 19, 2017

Right now I'm sitting in the school library writing this letter for you. Today was my first day in my new dream school and I was dying to tell someone about it. You won't believe what you soon are about to read, because this school isn't an ordinary school. It's beyond ordinary and it's what I've always dreamt about. I'm sure you've heard about my big passion to soccer, and I've always been complaining that I get to practice far too little all because of school and homework. Well, not anymore! This school has combined my favourite thing in the whole world with educating, and I'm loving it! Today we got our schedule and half of the lessons is to practice soccer. Now you are probably thinking, but isn't this going to make you focus less on school work? At first I thought the same. As much as I love to play soccer, I also have to focus on my education. But that's not going to be a problem at all. You see, besides all the practice we also have normal lessons like, Science, Math and English. The teachers are also always making sure that the pupils are concentrating on the school work and of course on the pitch. That means that the school is also strict, but not in a bad way. I always tell myself that if I want to achieve my goals in life I have to work hard.

Well okay, enough about me for awhile. I'm pretty sure that you are very curious to find out more about the school. What does it look like? Are there any rules? And the most important question, do you get to meet any famous players? Don't worry, I'm about to answer each question. First of all as you already know the school is placed on a soccer stadium, and a big one too. We also have our dorms placed on the stadium. We have access to a big cafeteria where I think I'm going to spend a lot of my time in with my friends. They have ice cream, hamburgers and a lot more, but as a soccer player you have to think about eating healthy. But an ice cream now or then isn’t going to harm anyone, right? We spend most of the practices outside on the main pitch, but when it's occupied we have to hold the practise outside on the small pitches surrounding the stadium. At first I was thinking, what if it's raining or the weather is bad? But then I remembered that that's never going to be a problem, here in Buenos Aires it never rains! We get to meet the player of the famous team CA River Plate and sometimes we even get to watch them practice. Our coach tells us that watching another team practice is another way of learning.

This school is different from other schools in many ways, not only the soccer part by also the part when it comes rules. That's right, this school doesn't have any rules! Here everyone has to take responsibility for themselves, that means that we have to be mature and handle situations in a good way. But if someone does something wrong, he or she will be sent to the the head teacher and coach. Later they will have to decide how the person will be punished. But that rarely happens.

The classrooms looks like the normal ones that I had in my old school. But the most exciting thing is the dorms. We have to share the dorms with our friends, that means it's going to be like a sleepover, but every day instead! Every week we also have soccer tournaments between the different dorms. How awesome is that?  I really like it here and I wish you could experience it just like me, maybe someday you will but for now I hope this letter helped you with some information. Write back soon and take care!

My ending to "Murder my dear"

-” I will get it! And it will give you time to think about your explanation.” Sonia said as she walked to the phone and answered it.
-” Hello, this is Sonia.”
On the phone
“ Yes Hello, this is Detective Inspector Harry Jarvis”. Jarvis said.
“ Oh, Hello inspector. What's on your mind?” Sonia asked curiously why he was calling her.
“ I want to talk to Detective Constable Fletcher. I believe he's with you.” Jarvis answered.
Yes, of course. Hold on.” Sonia said.
Sonia walked over to Flecher on the couch and reached out her hand to give him the phone.
“Who is it?” Flecher asked before taking the phone.
“ Answer and you will see” she answered. Flecher grabbed the phone and answered it. He finally hung up the phone after what seemed to be ages.
“ So?” Sonia asked.
“ Detective Inspector Harry Jarvis is coming over” he answered suddenly looking very pale. Was it something that bothered him? Sonia thought. He's acting really strange.
30 minutes later…
It was a knock on the door, one knock, two knocks, three knocks.
“ Hello Detective Jarvis” Sonia said as she opened the door. “ What's the hurry?” She asked.
“Let me talk to Flecher” he said bursting inside the apartment. After him came a long grey haired man, Detective Sergeant Mickey Watts. Sonia closed the door and walked in to the kitchen to find Jarvis and Flecher arguing.
I didn't do it! How can you come her and accusing me to have murdered a man.” Flecher almost shouted.
“ The fingerprints didn't match, we arrested the wrong man and you were the only one there running away and told us that you saw blood on his raincoat. You are the only one it can be!” Jarvis shouted back.
“I don't believe it, I have a perfect explanation to what happened that night.” Flecher said.
“Let's hear it then. What were you doing near Lamburne’s house that night?” Sonia said.
I was just taking a long walk, I wasn't feeling so good after the dinner party in the office that night, so I decided to take a walk around the neighborhood. It isn't something big, really it isn't and I can prove that it wasn't me” Flecher said crossing his arms.
“How?” Watt said looking a bit nervous.
If it was me, why would I tell you that I saw what happened and tell you all the details of what I saw and do I have to remind you, I gave you the fingerprints!” Flecher said.
“ Well if it wasn't you who was it then?” Jarvis said. He was clearly desperate for an answer.
“ Well, I may have an idea. The only one who knows about the fingerprints and took care of them was Detective Sergeant Mickey Watts. He maybe mixed up the fingerprints to trick everyone that it was Flecher” Sonia spoke up.
“ But why would he-” Jarvis cut off in the middle of his sentence.
“ What is it Sir” Flecher asked. Sonia turned around. Detective Sergeant Mickey Watts had disappeared without a trace.

English letter

                                                                               London, February 19,  2016

Hi Hannah!

I miss you so much! We haven’t seen each other for a long time. I felt like it would be nice if I wrote to you and told you about what happened here in London yesterday after school. But first I want to now how everything is going in Sweden. Is it cold like always? Who do you spend time with, and of course how are you doing?

Well now back to what happened yesterday. I was walking home from school like every other day. I felt like someone was watching me. But I looked around and I only saw a cat, so I continued. When I opened the door, I saw a letter addressed to me. I took up the letter from the floor, and it felt so heavy. On the letter it said: “ To Miss Ahmed, upstairs in the left room”
I was shocked. Who was it from and how did they know where my room was?! I didn't know what to do so I opened it. And guess what? It was from Hogwarts. The school we always dreamt about. They said that I'm welcome to join them the next term. But I don't understand, am I a wizard or a witch? My mum and dad never told me and I don't know if they are wizards. This is strange. So I decided to write to you. I have to solve this problem, with or without you.

Do you know anything? Write me back and let me know. Take care and see you at summer break.

Love
Your best friend, Helin
